JAMES A. SUGAR
Whenever I approach an assignment...I try to show an ordinary subject in a new way. I say to myself, What haven't I seen? Is there something here I can look at in a different way that will change the subject for me? - James A. Sugar - on the question: "How do you take a picture that has been shot a thousand times before?"

I try to foresee difficulties and find ways to circumvent them. My advice is to plan as much as possible. If you try to tackle the whole problem at once, it can be overwhelming. But if you attack it one step at a time, and if you answer each question as you go along, the setting up of the photograph becomes easier and more manageable. Once you have the idea, the work itself may seem rather mundane--almost boring. But he final result can be beautiful. - James A. Sugar
