SIMHANANDA

Simhananda, an award winning author, has written numerous photographic and inspirational books, and has been an experienced speaker on the said subject for over 40 years. For almost as long,  photography has been a pleasurable passion for this erudite, poet, music lover and art collector. Simhananda, literally means"lion’s roaring". And so, do his pictures and writings ‘roar out’ their sensitivity, tenderness and inspirational statement to the world. He loves people, places and the planet.

Two of Simhananda’s photography books have received the Gold at the Nautilus Book Awards in 2008 and 2009. Many others of his works were award-winning finalist at various book awards contests.

He wrote in 2006 a remarkably modern rendition of the teachings of Gampopa, the 12th century Tibetan, Kagyu Master of wide renown. His work bears living testimony to his deep understanding and mastership of the Buddhist tenets and teachings. Simhananda received an Honorable Mention for his work on the teachings of Gampopa from the 2006 IPPY Book Awards.

He lives near Montreal, Canada, and has recently adopted a second Tibetan child with his wonderful and devoted wife, Klaire.
